Teaching Curriculum

Foundations of Building a Life with Jesus

Laying the Gospel Bedrock

Focus: In this first session, you’ll establish a gospel-centered understanding of who God is, what He has done through Christ, and who you are in Him—laying a firm foundation for the journey ahead. You’ll dive into key passages (Isa. 43:10–11; Rom. 1:16) to explore God’s character and mission, humanity’s sin problem, and Jesus’ redemptive work (Eph. 2:1–10). You’ll also uncover your identity in Christ—being a new creation, an adopted child of God (2 Cor. 5:17; Rom. 8:15–16)—so you can approach the coming weeks of discipleship with clarity and confidence.

Building a Life of Discipleship

Following Jesus Every Day

Focus: In Week Two, you’ll learn what it truly means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly—abiding in Him, becoming like Him, and doing what He did. You’ll see how discipleship involves denying yourself, taking up your cross, and daily stepping into Jesus’ way of life (Luke 9:23–25). Together, we’ll look at abiding practices (John 15:1–11), discover how Christ’s character takes shape in us (John 14:15), and embrace the cost and joy of a life fully surrendered to Him.

Building a Life in the Word

Rooted in Scripture

Focus: This session centers on grounding your life in the truth of the Bible—learning how to interpret Scripture correctly, delight in it, and apply it. You’ll see why God’s Word stands as our ultimate authority (2 Tim. 3:16–17), following Jesus’ model of honoring and fulfilling it (Matt. 5:17–19). As you listen to, understand, and obey Scripture, you’ll cultivate a steadfast faith that isn’t swayed by cultural shifts.

Building a Life of Devotion

Pursuing Intimacy with God

Focus: Here, you’ll discover how prayer and worship form the heartbeat of a life devoted to God. Building on Jesus’ example of frequent communion with the Father (Mark 1:35), you’ll create rhythms of prayer (Matt. 6:6) and explore worship in its many expressions—from singing and gratitude to silence and lament (Ps. 34:1; Phil. 4:4–7). As you abide in Christ (John 15:1–11), you’ll learn that true fulfillment comes from drawing near to Him.

Building a Life of Leadership and Apostolic Purpose

Leading from the Cross

Focus: In this week, you’ll explore servant-hearted leadership that mirrors Jesus’ own sacrificial example. You’ll see why genuine leadership in God’s kingdom is shaped by humility and a willingness to serve rather than be served (Mark 10:42–45). As you study cruciform leadership (Phil. 2:3–8; Eph. 4:11–13), you’ll also discover your part in God’s grand redemptive story, stepping into the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18–20) with confidence and purpose.

Building a Life of Evangelism

Living and Telling the Good News

Focus: This session equips you to share and embody the gospel as a natural outflow of your life with Jesus. You’ll learn why evangelism is central to God’s mission—He calls every believer to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18–20) and to pray for more workers in His harvest (Matt. 9:37–38). As you develop “gospel fluency” (1 Pet. 3:15) and practice sharing both God’s story and your own testimony, you’ll grow in confidence to reach others with compassion and truth.

Building a Life in the Spirit

Empowered to Reflect Christ

Focus: In this week’s focus on the Holy Spirit, you’ll learn how to live a Spirit-empowered life marked by intimacy with God and prophetic insight. You’ll discover how the Spirit equips believers to walk in Christlikeness (Gal. 5:16–25; Acts 1:8), discern God’s voice, and exercise spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:4–11). By staying filled with His presence (Eph. 5:18), you’ll experience real transformation and find boldness to witness for Jesus.

Building a Life of Care & Compassion

Loving Like Jesus

Focus: This session invites you into a life that mirrors Jesus’ compassion by fostering community, hospitality, and generosity—especially for those who are marginalized. You’ll see how the early church set an example (Acts 2:42–47) and learn that caring for the poor and oppressed is central to God’s heart (Matt. 25:35–40; Isa. 1:17). Through hands-on practice of loving community, you’ll discover how to serve others without expecting anything in return, reflecting Christ’s own selfless love.

Building a Life of Formation

Growing in Christlikeness

Focus: Your transformation into the likeness of Christ is not automatic; it involves intentional practices, Spirit-led community, and a willingness to be shaped by Scripture (Rom. 12:1–2; 2 Cor. 3:18). This week delves into both unintentional and intentional spiritual formation, helping you craft a “rule of life” that aligns with God’s purposes (Phil. 2:12–13). As you open yourself to God’s sanctifying work, you’ll discover that genuine inward change always moves you outward in love (Luke 10:25–37).

Building a Life of Faith and Adventure

Launching into God’s Grand Story

Focus: In the final week, you’ll celebrate how God has shaped you so far and look ahead with anticipation. You’ll lay aside the weights that hinder your journey and fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of your faith (Heb. 12:1–2). This time of commissioning empowers you to keep running with endurance, embracing a life of bold obedience (James 1:2–4). As you step forward, remember: you’re never alone—Jesus Himself goes before you into every new adventure.
